Halloween Bed Race

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in and supported the 3rd Annual Halloween Bed Race held on Sunday, October 23, 2011. 

Under brilliant sunshine, 12 enterprising teams raced a hospital bed down the Kingsway in Etobicoke in quest of the highly sought after Pumpkin Trophy. 

Team MSCM LLP "Nerds" were the first place winners with a race time of 35.95 seconds.  In second place was Hot Oven Bakery, at 36.25 seconds.  Third place was taken by Ward Funeral Home at 39,28 seconds.

Two other coveted prizes were handed out.

 Thanks to the hard work of our teams collecting pledges and donations on behalf of the Hospice, more than $18,500 was raised to date.  Donations are still coming in and we encourage anyone who would like to make a donation, to do so.

To make an on-line donation or pledge a team, please click on the link provided below.   When you arrive on the page:

a)   please choose the name of the team you want to support from the How Did You Hear About Us drop down menu.
b)  If you would like to make a general donation to the event instead of a specific team, please choose the Halloween Bed Race option from the dropdown menu.  Then simply complete the rest of the questions.  Ignore the In Memory or In Honour questions.  For the Fund Designation, click on the drop down menu and select Halloween Bed Race pledge.

To date, the top fundraising team is The C. Dennis Flynn Foundation with a grand total of $3,770 and counting.  The second top fundraiser is MSCM LLP with $3,065.

We'd also like to thank the Hot Oven Bakery who provided us with hot coffee and wonderful coissants.  Starbucks also contributed to our coffee selection.  Between EGGSMART, Hot Oven Bakery and Starbucks, our contests were in flying form for the races with their thirst quenched and their bellies filled.
