Halloween Bed Race
Join us for the 4th Annual Halloween Bed Race on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Teams of up to six members will race a hospital bed down the Kingsway in Etobicoke in a bid to be crowned the winner. Teams collect pledges and all the proceeds will be applied to support hospice palliative care in our community. The day includes a pancake breakfast, races and presentation of the Pumpkin Trophy.

Circle of Friends
Join the Circle of Friends for The Dorothy Ley Hospice, a great series of cooking events that combine friendship, food and fund raising. The Circle of Friends is held in partnership with Cirillo's Culinary Academy. Under the tutelage of highly regarded gourmet chef John Cirillo and his team, you will have a chance to expand your culinary skills and learn how to make a wide variety of mouth-watering dishes. And after you have spent an evening cooking away, you get to sit down with your friends, enjoy a nice glass of wine and enjoy the fruits of your labout.

Doves of Hope and Remembrance
The "Doves" is a special two-month campaign that is the Hospice's single largest fundraising event. It engages more than 150 volunteers each year to help raise funds for the Hospice's Day Program. Decorative holiday trees are located in community locations such as Cloverdale Mall, and local schools and businesses. People can place their memory or message of hope on a special holiday dove and then place it on a tree. A holiday celebration for volunteers and a direct mail campaign are also part of the regular line-up of activities.

International Women's Day Breakfast
International Women's Day is about celebrating the many gifts and talents of women who are making a difference in this community and beyond. Please mark on your calendar Thursday, March 8, 2012 and join us to help celebrate the 7th Annual International Women's Day Breakfast. Check the website closer to the date for details.

Hike for Hospice - May 6, 2012
The Hike is a nation-wide event hosted by hospices and palliative care organizations to help build awareness and raise funds. Held in May each year, people of all ages come together to walk, run or stroll in support of the Hospice's Bereavement Services. A special tribute honouring deceased loved ones is the cornerstone of this special event. Hike for Hospice will take place Sunday, May 6, 2012. The hike begins and ends at the Hospice, 220 Sherway Drive. Please feel free to download a copy of the 2012 brochure and pledge sheet.

Golf Classic
Plans for the 17th Annual Hospice Golf Classic are well underway. We have a fun day of Golf, contests, and fine dining planned as well as a live and a silent auctions with items to appeal to everyone. This year's event is taking place on Wednesday, May 30 at Caledon Country Club. Built in 1961 and designed by the renowned Rene Muylaert, the Caledon Country Club provides folfers with a challenging layout, fast greens, and lots of water carries.
We have a wide variety of sponsorship opportunities available. Tickets are $1,300 for a foursome or $275 per person. Take advantage of our early bird specials if you sign up before April 16. See flyer for details.
