Bereavement Support

We offer bereavement support for caregivers, families and friends following a death or for those who anticipate a loss. Our volunteers and staff offer one-on-one or group support and provide information and referrals to other community services as needed.

New Beginnings
This helpful program is open to all individuals, family, friends and community members who have lost a loved one and want additional community support in handling a bereavement experience.   Group sessions take place over eight consecutive evenings.  The first meeting is an information night - an introduction to the bereavement group sessions and how these sessions may benefit you.  It's all about life. About living connected to who you are, as you carry the memory of your loved one with you. The New Beginnings Group opens the door. It lets you better cope with your grief, and supports you with hope.  Sessions are offered regualarly throughout the year.  Advanced registration is required.

Coping with Special Days and Holidays
Scheduled to coincide with those times of the year when families traditionally gather together, these sessions help people who have exprienced the loss of a loved one to cope with holiday season.  Seminars provide practical and emotional tips for navigating through the emotional holiday season - a time that can be difficult, especially after the death of a family member.  Advance registration is required.

Walking Through Your Grief - A Walking Group for the Bereaved
The walking group welcomes all bereaved individuals who have experienced the death of someone significant. It is a time to walk and talk, at a relaxed pace, with others who are grieving; to share ideas and support while benefiting from some fresh air and exercise.  Joining in on the walk are caring hospice volunteers to provide a listening ear.
